What you actually get
A listing at /tool/<slug> that publishes the moment their crawler finds your badge, with no editorial wait. The free link back to you is nofollow; the dofollow they advertise is the one on the paid Best-of listicle.

How to submit to Buildlist

  1. Sign in
Google or a one-time email link. Their own line is "No passwords."
  2. Paste your URL
Fetch details with AI reads the site and drafts the name, tagline, description, category, subcategory, five tags and a logo, offering five scraped logo candidates to choose from.
  3. Check the draft
It also writes key features, use cases and five FAQ answers. Read every one against your own facts before advancing.
  4. Pick the free plan
Free is one link to your site and standard placement, and it says plainly that it requires their badge.
  5. Add the badge and publish
Paste the snippet on your site, give them the page URL, and Verify and publish. The listing goes live immediately; "I will add it later" parks it at Pending badge.

Buildlist requirements

Their badge live on your site (free lane)
A public product page for the AI to read
A logo URL, if you do not want one of their five scraped candidatesoptional

Gotchas

The free listing links back to you with rel="noopener nofollow"; the dofollow in their pricing table is the Best-of listicle on the $19 tier.
Their AI writes the listing off your homepage and it is what publishes, so anything it got wrong is what readers see.
The badge is what keeps the listing live rather than a one-off check: their line beside the snippet is "Keep the link in place so your listing stays live."

Let your agent submit to Buildlist

Connect SubmitMap to your AI over MCP and this page stops being something you read and copy. Your agent asks for the Buildlist playbook and gets the brief for this exact form, with the values already taken from your submission pack instead of placeholders you fill in by hand.

What it does for this platform
Checks your product against the 4 Buildlist rules above, so you find out you would be rejected before you open a tab.
Hands your agent all 3 fields this form asks for, 1 of them optional, already filled from your pack.
Warns you that Buildlist looks for its badge on your site, so it has to be live before you submit rather than after.
Tells you what paying buys here, so you pick it on purpose: featured $19 and Premium $49 add more links, featured placement and a spot on a Best-of listicle with a dofollow.
Types it into Buildlist in your own browser, and stops for you when the form wants a sign-in.
Records what it sent, so the dashboard can answer "did I ever submit to Buildlist?".
