Eligibility

Who Shipboard accepts

You need
A live URL with an og:image and a meta description, because both are pulled automatically
An email address, or a Google account, to receive the edit link
You'll be rejected if
Nothing is published
Any live website
What you actually get
A row on one wall of about fifty shipped sites, live immediately, carrying your og:image, your favicon, a description pulled from your own meta tag and a category. You also get a builder profile at /u/<handle> that collects everything you post. The link is rel="ugc noopener" on both the board and the profile, and ugc is in the nofollow family, so no equity passes. What it costs is a minute, which is the honest reason to do it.

How to submit to Shipboard

  1. Type the domain on the homepage
One field and a Post it button. It carries the address through to /submit as a query parameter and fetches your page.
  2. Check what it pulled
It fills the description from your own meta tag, the card image from your og:image and the icon from your favicon, and shows all three as a preview. Each has a Use a different one link beside it.
  3. Pick a category and name yourself
Thirty categories including Marketing, SaaS, AI and Developer tools. Your name or brand becomes a builder profile, and an X handle links the post to it and can pull your avatar.
  4. Give an email, or use Google
There are no passwords: the emailed link is how you get back in to edit. Continue with Google is offered underneath as the alternative. Posting is instant either way.

Gotchas

Every link here is rel="ugc noopener", on the board and on your builder profile alike. ugc is in the nofollow family, so nothing passes equity and the paid-tier escape hatch that other boards offer does not exist: there is no paid tier at all.
It writes your listing from your own page before you see it, taking the description from your meta tag and the card from your og:image. That is convenient when those are good and publishes whatever is there when they are not, so check the preview rather than the form.
There is no password, so the emailed link is the only way back in to edit the post or reach the profile. Lose the email and you have no route to your own listing except asking them.

Let your agent submit to Shipboard

Connect SubmitMap to your AI over MCP and this page stops being something you read and copy. Your agent asks for the Shipboard playbook and gets the brief for this exact form, with the values already taken from your submission pack instead of placeholders you fill in by hand.

What it does for this platform
Checks your product against the 3 Shipboard rules above, so you find out you would be rejected before you open a tab.
Hands your agent all 6 fields this form asks for, 2 of them optional, already filled from your pack.
Types it into Shipboard in your own browser, and stops for you when the form wants a sign-in.
Records what it sent, so the dashboard can answer "did I ever submit to Shipboard?".
